NueHealth’s Gold Coast Surgery Center of Chicago, Illinois Achieves AAAHC ORTHOPAEDIC ADVANCED CERTIFICATION: TOTAL JOINT PROGRAM

Apr 4, 2018

Leawood, KS – March 27, 2018 – NueHealth’s Gold Coast Surgery Center has achieved Orthopaedic Advanced Certification: Total Joint Program from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Gold Coast Surgery Center is the first Ambulatory Surgery Center in the Midwest to achieve this certification. A Certification distinguishes this surgery center from many other outpatient facilities by acknowledging the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

Achieving Certification means NueHealth’s Gold Coast Surgery Center has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of outpatient Orthopaedic care set by AAAHC. More than 6,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by AAAHC.

“We believe our patients deserve the best,” stated Karen Howey, Group Vice President, NueHealth. “When you see our certificate of certification, you will know that AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means we as an organization care enough about our patients to demonstrate the highest level of care possible.”

Ambulatory healthcare organizations seeking certification by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors – physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.  Demonstration of compliance to the nationally set standards is required to obtain certification.

“Going through the process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to strive to continuously improve the quality of care we provide,” said Mary Dailey, Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations, NueHealth. NueHealth facilities are continuing to achieve excellence in the industry.
